There are lots of great ways to decorate a rat cage.
For example... Putting up some hammocks, tunnels, baskets, ladders, and bunkhouses (levels).
Hammocks- when putting up hammocks you dont need anything really special, your rat doesnt care what
color of clothe you get them- their blind! It could even be something really cheap like an old towel or a really big dish
clothe. If your going to use a towel, cut it so it fits where you want it in the cage. To make a hammock there are some easy
steps to follow.
Tools you may need:
-Fabrics or materials
-twist ties, *safety pins, or *wire
-*may need to use pyers or wire cutters
Step1- Using the fabric or materials, poke four holes close but not on or touching the
four corners of the material . Tie the twist ties threw the holes of the material.
Step2- Next put the hammock in the cage wherever you want. String the twist ties threw the bars of
the cage and hold the hammock in place. Adjust the twist ties and walla-your done!
*Step3-If your using safety pins of wire, have a parent advise you or with you at the time. Your
Mother or Father can help undo the safety pins or cut the wire to a certain length.
*Step4- Weave the safety pins in the four corners of the fabric or material that you are using. The
same goes for if you are using wire, weave the wire threw the four corners of the material. Adjust the hammock into the
cage, be extremely careful with those safety pins that you are using. If your using wire, adjust the hammock into place. Next
twist the wire arond the bars closest, Make an adult make sure that it is safe for your rat to play on. Nothing sticking out
which could hurt your rats.
